Camera Security Systems for Peace of Mind

4 Channel Wireless Digital Camera SystemCamera security systems are essentially, cameras placed in position with a video transmitter running to a receiver. The system makes it possible for the survellance of anyone or any thing by sending visual signals through the lenses back to a security monitor which is connected directly to the system.

While some systems rely on a person to acutally survey a security monitor at all times, many security cameras are remotely operated. Other cameras simply record the surveillance for viewing at a later time. Like the kind you see in convenience stores. Whichever system suits your needs best, all must be powered by battery or an alternate power source in order  to work.

Great Products. Great Prices.

In addition to a power source, camera security systems work on frequencies as well as range. There are many differenct concepts for camera security system installations. So, there are many differenct kinds of secuity cameras available on the market today. Like everything else, some ar better than others. You can find everything from a very simple and basic system to those that are very complex. There are cameras that are actually designed for surveillance through metal. These are very expensive, high frequency cameras.

Hardwire systems that hide lines through walls and ceilings can use many frequencies but most wireless cameras are limited to four different frequenies. The range of reception can vary widly on security cameras. In most cases the initial focus is on safety. Protection from theft or vandalism of property is next.

Of course, there are many different types and designs. Some camera security systems are used by the authorities in high crime areas or even at traffic intersections to record drivers ignoring red lights.

Good reception is key, especially if you are recording for surveillance as opposed to using human monitored systems. Reception doesn’t need to be nearly as clear in this case but you’ll want to get as good as you can. The cameras also vary in size from as small as a button on your jacket to the size of a video camcorder.

Price of course, varies as well. And a higher price doesn’t necessarily mean a better camera. It really comes down to how the security camera will be used. A personal use camera probably isn’t going to require the same level of quality as one used for commercial purposes.

Camera security systems above all, provide peace of mind and a feeling of safety to people as well as protecting our property.

Remote Wireless Systems, the Latest Technology

Remote secutity camera systems are the latest technology. Essentially, they work the same as your typical security camera installation but they are wireless. As with most new technology, they were more expensive at first than the hardwired systems but have come down in price and now can actually be less expensive than the other systems.

Some of these systems include motion detectors or can trigger alarms. The alarms can scare off can scare off intruders. Additionally, the intruder will still be recorded by the camera for identification purposes.

Video streaming is often employed on these cameras to relay images from remote sites. The property owner can be in a completely different location (ie. work or vacation) and still be able to view images from his cameras.

Your needs may call for a camera security system to record images for review at a later time. These are frequently used in businesses.
The recorded images can be used to identify suspects.

It is also possible to network many remote security cameras and monitor many different locations from one place.  And, no more grainy black and white images. The technology today provides clear color images.

Your article was very informative about the different aspects of a camera security system. Thanks for that. I do, however, have one concern about these systems. If I were a homeowner, owned one of these systems (with recording capabilities) and were burglarized, could my security camera footage be used by the authorities to arrest and eventually prosecute the perpetrator (assuming he/she was recognizable of course)?

Did not realize that wireless systems were now available. That’s a bit of a game changer, isn’t it? I’ve heard that one should place the camera in plain view, where it can function as a deterrent. My concern about that was having the camera stolen and /or vandalized in some way. Putting a casing over it, perhaps? Let it remain in view but with some protection?
